Universal Worship Service with ‘Alim

Antidotes to Suffering: Greed
In Buddhist traditions, the three poisons—greed, anger, and ignorance—are seen as root causes of human suffering. This service delves into the complex energy of greed, exploring transformative perspectives from diverse spiritual traditions, contemporary psychology, and the luminous wisdom of Hazrat Inayat Khan. Through our shared time together, we aim to transform the heavy weight of greed into a lightness of being, raising our awareness from the earthbound to the Divine, and opening our hearts to unreasonable joy.

Antidotes to Suffering is a three-part Universal Worship series exploring remedies to greed, anger, and ignorance that so often plague our lives and that we see in the world around us. We will lift up wisdom from Hinduism, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, Judaism,  Islam, and Humanism to help us find space in our hearts to respond to each energy. We will offer modern voices from the realms psychology to open our minds. And we will hear teachings from Hazrat Inayat Khan to nourish our souls. We hope that each service provides space for all of who you are in that moment, providing opportunities for celebration and solace,  contemplation and inspiration, connection to others and connection to That Which is Beyond All Knowing.

All services in this series will be on the second Wednesday of each month.
