IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS to join our Zoom meetings FOR THE FIRST TIME

We welcome new friends to join our Zoom meetings. We strive to be inclusive and accessible, while providing a safe experience for participants. Due to people “crashing” our Zooms, we’ve needed to enact the following policy. If you would like to visit our meetings, please follow these instructions:

1. Send an email to the host of the meeting to introduce yourself.
We like to know a bit about your background, your interest in joining the Zoom, and your previous experience. The host emails can be found in the details of the event you wish to attend.
2. Join the meeting 5 minutes early.
This will give the host an opportunity to greet you and help you feel welcome.
3. Set your Zoom profile name to the same name you use on Meetup, or to a name that you have used to email us.
If we don’t know your name, we won’t let you in.
4. Have your camera on when you first join so we know you’re a real person. 
5. Keep your microphone muted unless the host invites you to speak.
